10月22日,美国夏威夷大学旅游管理学院院长Thomas Bingham教授受邀访问管理学院旅游管理系,洽谈与我系3+2本硕合作项目,进一步落实实施方案。管理学院副院长钱文荣教授,旅游系系主任周玲强教授,系副主任王婉飞教授,开云online(中国)专业主管吴茂英老师出席接待了Bingham教授。同行的还有夏威夷大学旅游管理学院Ivan Wen博士。双方进行了友好会面。
下午,Bingham教授和Ivan Wen博士就双方合作的具体方案上和我系老师进行了深入的交流和探讨。旅游系周玲强教授,王婉飞教授,吴茂英副教授,吕佳颖副教授,林珊珊博士等参与了此次交流,双方相谈甚欢。大家都表示,3+2本硕项目的合作,只是双方合作的美好开端,以此为基础,期待未来互相有更多的交流和合作。最后,王婉飞教授还就MBA合作项目、教师互访合作研究及国际会议等合作事宜与对方进行了详细探讨。
交流结束后,Bingham教授和Iven Wen博士在702会议室给我系师生带来了别开生面的精彩讲座。讲座由王婉飞教授主持。讲座在Bingham教授“Aloha”的问候声中拉开序幕。首先,Bingham教授向在座师生介绍了夏威夷的风土人情以及当地旅游业的发展,并和大家分享了夏威夷大学旅游管理学院的专业设置,设施设备。他重点介绍了和旅游系合作的3+2国际本硕项目,引起了现场学生的极大兴趣。随后,Ivan Wen 博士以“Research on Tourism E-commerce”为主题,,进行了一场生动的演讲。他在演讲过程中大量采用具体数据,深入浅出的论述互联网时代为旅游企业经营以及旅游者行为带来的深刻影响,博得现场听众的阵阵掌声。讲座的最后是提问环节。在座的学生用英文向两位演讲嘉宾提出自己的问题,并发表自己的见解,受到了他们的肯定与赞许,体现了旅游系学生良好的英语水平以及独立思考能力。相信来自夏威夷大学学者的精彩演讲与分享将为旅游管理专业学生未来的学术研究和就业发展提供宝贵的参考信息。
简介:Thomas Bingham
Thomas Bingham has been on the faculty of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa since 1991. Previous administrative appointments at UHM have included Interim Dean of the School of Architecture, Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and Chair of the Music Department.
As Professor of Music, his responsibilities included conducting the Symphonic Band and Rainbow Warrior Marching Band and teaching courses in Music Education. Professor Bingham continues to appear as guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician, and recently completed a concert tour of Taiwan with the Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the National Taiwan Taitung University.
Hsing Ivan Wen, PhD
Hsing Ivan Wen is an Associate Professor at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa School of Travel Industry Management, where he teaches information technology and strategic management at both the master’s and undergraduate levels. He received his Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration in May 2006 from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas William F. Harrah’s College of Hotel Management.
Ivan is an experienced teacher and committed researcher. He received his dual bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After receiving his MBA from the University of San Diego, he taught Information Technology and E-Commerce at his alma mater, University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Also, Ivan taught Introduction of Hospitality Industry and Hotel Management at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas William F. Harrah’s College of Hotel Management for three and one half years.
Ivan is a candidate of Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE). He spent three years as assistant manager in Four Seasons Hotel at Taipei, where he managed Banquet operations. His research emphasis includes eCommerce, eConsumer Behavior, Consumer Relationship Management, and Information Technology Management.
